as well as many shops. 

Ocean Beach, Cliff House and ruins of the
Sutra Baths
A
tourist stop on the beach with nice views of the ocean, the Golden Gate Bridge and possible a seal or two.

Panoramic view of the city.

Coit Tower
Great viewing platform and a museum of art from the
1930’s

 

Fisherman’s Wharf and Alcatraz
You can take the Cable Car from downtown to the
Wharf.  The boat tours to Alcatraz take off from San
Francisco.  You will need to call the Red and White
Fleet
(415) 447-0597 a day in advance to tour Alcatraz.
Great for kids.

Golden Gate Park
Japanese Tea Gardens, Asian Art Museum, Academy
of Sciences with the Aquarium, Arboretum, and the Conservatory of Flowers.  Great for kids.

Pier 39
Under Water World, an under water look at local
marine habitat.  Also there are many tourist shops to
visit and a must to view sea lions on the Bay’s docks.

Marin Headlands
Just to the Northwest of the Golden Gate Bridge. 
Has a great view of the city and ocean, great place
for hiking, picnicking, and biking.
